I was excited for this concert for various reasons. As a Nightwish fan, I appreciate Floor very much; she’s an incredible singer, a great live performer, and generally seems to have a great personality. I like Floor’s old bands as well though (After Forever and Revamp) as well as some of her solo stuff (Northward); I don’t find her new solo stuff particularly interesting, but I knew that she also performs a mix of all of her work in her life performances. The concert was obviously heavily focused on the new material, but there was a solid mix of her older stuff as well. All in all, a very enjoyable concert.
The concert started with a very nice acoustic performance by Anneke van Giersbergen, who was supporting Floor on the tour. I hadn’t listened to any of her work (The Gathering or after that), so I actually wasn’t familiar with her, but I enjoyed this very much; above all, it was very soothing.
