Vienna, June 2026

As a history buff, Vienna had been on my bucket list for a veeery long time. I’d been to Austria before (in Klagenfurt), but I’d not had a chance to visit Vienna until now, so I was really happy that I could attend ICRA here and thus finally visit the city.

Photos from around the city

As I was at ICRA during the week, I only had time to really walk around and explore on a couple of days, but I think that was enough to get a glimpse of the beautiful things the city has to offer. Here are many pictures I took from around the place, including the Belvedere, Karlskirche, the Hofburg, and the Danube bank.

Sisi museum

One concrete activity my friends and I did on our last day was visiting the Sisi museum. To be honest, I knew almost nothing about Sisi before coming here; I’d obviously heard the name, but I was never really interested enough to read more about her. The museum goes through the part of the palace where she lived and it was a great way to learn about the important milestones in her (safe to say troubled) life. It was also useful to find out that, if I’d known anything about her before coming here, it probably would’ve been wrong (apparently, the version of Sisi that is popular in the media / movies is not very close to the real person).

The museum is absolutely worth visiting, but here are some photos I took there as a teaser.

After the Sisi museum, my friends and I also went to the Museum of Illusions. That’s a small museum, but it’s something that is certainly fun to be experienced (even though many of the illusions were known to me already).
