This event was just a few days after the Visions of Atlantis concert; it took place in the Scandinavium, so its scale was much bigger. I was seeing both Powerwolf and Hammerfall live for the first time, so there was lot to be excited about.
I already saw Wind Rose at Wacken last year, so I knew what to expect from their performance: A lot of fun. Below are a few photos taken during their set.
Hammerfall has a special place in my heart (on fire ;)) as I used to listen to them a lot at one point (particularly during my university years), and I still play a couple of their songs on my guitar. While I don’t listen to them too frequently anymore, I was super excited to finally see them alive.
The performance, as expected, was great, and one could see that they are very happy to be playing on home ground. Here are a few pictures from their performance.
I only started listening to Powerwolf actively a few years ago, when their songs started becoming a fixed part of my playlists. I also own The Metal Mass live release, so I already knew they are really good at live performances. Still, I have to say that, even with that knowledge, I was not ready for how fantastic the show would be: The performance was powerful (pun intended), the integrated visuals looked pretty cool, and the audience interaction was (as is typical for Powerwolf shows) amazing throughout the performance. Their concerts are kinda like musical theater, and I’m all totally here for it. Powerwolf is really a force to be reckoned with.
