Even though I’ve been in Germany for many years now, I’d not visited Berlin before August 2021 (mostly due to lack of free time). Anyway, since some of the COVID-19 regulations were being relaxed at this point and I wanted to take a short break from working on my PhD, I decided to finally visit the city and spend a few days there. This was in the first half of August and the weather was beautiful (not too hot), so I was able to simply walk on foot and enjoy the many city landmarks. The biggest highlight of my visit was spending several hours in the German Spy Museum (I actually would’ve spent even more time than I did, but I had a ticket for Madame Tussauds on the same day, so I had to leave eventually). I’m certainly planning to go again at some point in future, at the very least to visit a few more museums that are now on my wishlist.
Here are some photos I took during the visit of: the Reichstag building, the Holocaust memorial, the remains of the Berlin wall, the Spree, the Humboldt university, the Berliner Dom, the World Clock at Alexanderplatz…
